Group & Individual Supervision
Group supervision with colleagues can be an extremely helpful process that can enhance reflective practice, team cohesion, trust, understanding and skill sharing.
As an experienced facilitator Ursula has worked in diverse workplaces providing group supervision to counsellors, lawyers and case managers. Ursula consults with workplaces to find the right supervision model for them. The needs of the team will be carefully considered to find the right balance between expert input and facilitation to resource the team and draw out and consolidate individual and team knowledge for that team at the time. The needs and model will be reviewed in an open and transparent way to ensure the supervision process grows as the team grows. Ursula has provided group supervision for many community agencies, including statewide family violence services and multiple community legal services.
Ursula specialises in providing supervision to helping professionals who work with people with complex issues. Supervision provides a safe, supportive and reflective space for people to increase their awareness and knowledge of how to effectively help others and look after themselves in the process.
Ursula’s supervision style is developmental in that it aims to meet the supervisee where they currently are in their work. The needs of a beginning counsellor will be different from those of an experienced therapist and the needs of a refuge worker may be different from a disability employment consultant. Ursula will help the supervisee to become aware of and articulate their supervision needs.
Ursula can help provide the ‘nuts and bolts’ of helping others with teaching and resourcing. She can also provide a deeper level of process orientated supervision which focuses on issues of counter transference and the interaction of helper and client attachment styles. Ursula uses a strength based framework in her supervision which helps to draw out, develop, highlight and consolidate strengths in the supervisee. The style and level of supervision will be developed and reviewed collaboratively.
